Floor Preparation at The Sunderland Carpet Centre
Floor Preparation the most important factor in your floor covering looking good and wearing well
The most important factor in ensuring that your floor covering looks good and wears how it should is the condition of the subfloor. Badly cupped floorboards or an uneven floor cannot be rectified with a thick underlay or a feather finish screed.
Badly cupped boards can be a sign of ventilation problems or excessive moisture in the void space under the floor. This can be sometimes easily rectified. If left unchecked this can at best show through the final installation as ridges at worst (especially with wood) can be disastrous.
We have a highly trained fitting team for Floor Preparation
They are trained in all aspects of floor preparation
The wrong screed or a screed that has been incorrectly mixed (too much water) or a floor that has not been primed with the correct primer can cause another screed to shed if laid on top of it.
If a flooring such as wood, Karndean or Amtico is installed on top of it, then these screeds must be removed prior to levelling the floor. |
